A Classic Lease Case
A telecom provider which partners with Atlance discovers that a customer is looking to acquire a new telephone exchange. The customer is a local branch of a multinational. Because the local branch has no investment budget available, and would rather reserve the cash resources for its core activities, no permission is granted for the acquisition of the telephone exchange.
The Atlance partner proposes a solution to this. There is a perfect picture of the needs and technical requirements of the customer; all the parameters of the investment project are known. In consultation with the customer, a period of five years is chosen. Because of the limitation imposed from higher up, the customer opts to include all the additional installation costs and maintenance for the next five years in the leasing solution as well. The investment amount is converted into a fixed periodic leasing amount, and therefore the customer always knows exactly what the costs are.
Because the leasing solution doesn't take up cash resources and is not a loan, the local branch can make the decision itself and still acquire the telephone exchange it needs.
